Learn how Giga can be used from ChatGPT while keeping Giga's live workspace context and permissions in place.
ChatGPT is an official Giga surface.
When Giga is available in your ChatGPT environment, you can work with Giga from ChatGPT while Giga continues to resolve the current workspace, context, permissions, and connected capabilities underneath.
Giga stays the workspace layer
Using ChatGPT changes the interface you are working from.
The underlying Giga model remains the same.
Depending on the current session and permissions, Giga can resolve relevant:
- Groups
- Tracks
- Context Notes
- Observations
- Current Track State
- Connections
- Skills
- files and other permitted company context
The live Giga environment remains the source of truth for what is available.
ChatGPT does not widen access
Opening Giga from ChatGPT does not make every company resource available. Giga continues to enforce the current user and workspace permission boundaries.
Work with Giga from ChatGPT
The exact experience depends on the Giga capabilities exposed in the current ChatGPT environment.
Where supported, you can use Giga to work with company context and connected systems instead of treating the ChatGPT session as an isolated blank slate.
That can include tasks such as:
- asking questions about permitted company context
- working with an explicitly selected Track
- using available Connections
- applying available Skills
- creating or updating supported Giga work
- taking supported actions through the tools exposed in the session
Giga should check the live tool environment before claiming a specific action is available.
Tracks still work the same way
A Chat can be linked to at most one Track.
Giga should never silently infer the Track from the subject of a ChatGPT discussion.
The Track should be explicitly selected or confirmed because Track attachment affects where observations from the Chat can become retrievable.
Once selected, Giga can use the Track context available to the current user.
Company Brain remains permission-aware
Giga’s Company Brain is the structured company context layer behind the work.
From ChatGPT, that can include the same permitted company knowledge Giga can resolve elsewhere, such as:
- workspace and Group guidance
- Track context and memory
- files
- Agent and Skill context
- Connections and live external information
- user-level context
What is actually retrieved should stay relevant to the task and within the current permission scope.
Connections stay live
Connections are resolved from the current Giga workspace.
If a connected tool is available and the current user has access, Giga can use the capability exposed in the ChatGPT session.
If the capability is unavailable, Giga should not assume that an integration available elsewhere in the workspace can automatically be used from ChatGPT.
Surface capability is dynamic
A Connection existing in Giga does not prove that every action or file behavior is exposed in every interface.
File behavior can differ
Giga does not assume that ChatGPT handles files exactly like Giga Web or Slack.
The current ChatGPT integration determines:
- what file operations are supported
- how files are displayed or returned
- which artifact or preview capabilities are available
- which actions can be completed directly from the session

ChatGPT vs Giga Web
ChatGPT
Use Giga from the ChatGPT interface with the tools and capabilities exposed there.
Giga Web
Use Giga’s first-party web interface, including its web-specific viewer and rich UI where supported.
The underlying Giga permissions and company context remain governed by the live workspace in both cases.
A simple example
Imagine you are discussing a customer account in ChatGPT.
Work through ChatGPT
Ask Giga for the account context or task you need.
Resolve live Giga access
Giga checks the current user, Groups, Connections, and explicitly selected Track.
Use available company context
Giga retrieves the relevant permitted context and live capabilities available in the session.
Return the result in ChatGPT
The response follows the capabilities and presentation supported by the current ChatGPT surface.
